Our History

 

Brookside Metal Company Ltd was founded in 1938. Brookside supplied high-performance copper alloy ingots and master alloys to foundries around the world. In 2000 it became part of the AMC Group headed by Amalgamated Metal Corporation Plc (www.amcgroup.com) ensuring a strong financial strength to develop the business.

 

In 2015 the melting operation was relocated to our sister company, Milver Metal Company Ltd where the production of copper alloys continues. With the closure of the foundry, the Group was able to redevelop the Willenhall site to focus on other recycling activities which resulted in significant investments leading to the creation of a major recycling centre for non-ferrous metals providing much-needed employment and regeneration in the region.

 

Firstly in 2016 with the introduction of Scanmetals (UK) Ltd, a company which specialises in the recovery and refining of metallic waste from incineration plants. This was followed by the formation of Brookside Metal Trading Ltd, the latest company to proudly bear the Brookside name and the development of our purpose built non-ferrous metal recycling facility.
